About The Seagull—Adiós

Treplev, a young man who chose to end his life.

Chekhov responds to his death with a portrait of an apathetic family.

Based on Chekhov's original play, The Seagull—Adiós presents the story from the perspective of a young man, describing the situation individuals face and the choices they make, and abstracting from it the current situation faced by young people. The characters in the play search for their positions in society and family again and again. In a story without grand historical events or sharp social criticism, we use a multimedia approach to explore the essence of life from multiple dimensions, reorganize the emotional experience of individuals' lives in the original story, and try to listen to the voice of a young man on stage.

About PUSUZHIZAO

Established in 2023, the "PUSUZHIZAO" theatre company is composed of a group of creators of diverse educational backgrounds. The troupe takes collective creation as its core working method, performing its dramaturgy in collaboration, reflecting the troupe's requirements for historicity, sociality, reality in the artistic creation process, and emphasizing the close connection between artistic works and contemporary social reality. Starting from "theatricality" we explore the creative mode of image theater under the grammar of new media, creating a tense coexistence between the performance and its audience.
