About The Cherry Orchard
The owner of the cherry orchard, Liubov, returns home from abroad, unable to face the fact that her family estate is about to be auctioned off. While she continues to indulge in denial, the merchant Lopakhin becomes the new owner. As the cherry trees fall one by one, Liubov can only bid farewell to the orchard with tears, and everyone is forced to leave their old life behind.
This production of The Cherry Orchard intensifies physicality and visual vocabularies, integrating action, speech, music, and mood into a near expressionist whole that offers contemporary interpretations of the characters. With magnified emotional space, this production leaves more room for the audience's imagination.
