About Double Dual

It is the spring of the 22nd year of the Republic of China, Jiangning, Nanjing.

Cheng Wuyou is in jail and set to be tried in court the next day, when suddenly his friend Lu Bo'an visits him late at night, bringing an unexpected old friend, Lang Shiyao, as his defense lawyer. As teenagers, the three of them used to be confidantes, chess-mates and rivals, but for twenty years they have been estranged and even turned against each other.

How will this defense proceed? Just looking at the chessboard, it is difficult to determine a winner; on this still night, old memories come to light…

About Zhu Hongxuan 

Zhu Hongxuan is a theatre director, playwright and the founder of The Nine.

She graduated from Peking University, majoring in political science and economics. She specializes in realistic and discursive writing, and her past works are related to public policy-making, new media revolution, education equity, feminism, and more.

Her best-known works include Double Dual, When We Two Parted, Symmetry Breaking and Universitas.
